Coming up on their thirtieth year and after adding two massive shipping vessels to their fleet, Totem Ocean Trailer Express wanted visual pieces to reflect this paradigm shift. Their goal, and our task, was to create a series of outstanding brochures that would show the depth of commitment that TOTE has to their customers and community.
After a major photo shoot that covered five locations over a nine month period, Artifex successfully designed a brochure that truly captured the spirit and craftsmanship of Madera. This brochure received a Barbi Award from the printer for outstanding print design, and was later recognized by Spicer Paper for Excellence in Design.
Storm Chasers - Bowling Apparel and Accessories
Artifex was in the process of developing the Storm Chasers e-commerce website when the project for a direct marketing brochure was appointed to us as well. Our goal was two fold; design a creative piece that grabbed the attention of the reader, and strategically had to be delivered by the launch of the website.
Every year in June, the Who's who of the bowling industry gear up for what is known as the Bowl Expo. Storm wanted a product catalog that not only displayed their products uniquely, but to also show their spirit as an industry trendsetter. The Artifex team accepted this challenge and delivered a show stopper that was to be seen by over 50,000 people over the three day event.
As a leading bowling ball company, Dyno-thane branched out and released a new line of bowling shoes. Artifex was approached for the design of a catalog that needed to focus on the style of each shoe and their accessories. Successfully, we produced a piece that exploited the attributes of each product and delivered it on time.
Aritfex was approached for the photography and re-design of an aging product catalog that displayed rather mundane looking shelving. After further investigation we realized that photography was going to be a logistical nightmare and suggested using 3D renderings. They liked the idea and loved the cost savings as well. We delivered a brochure that was well under budget and spiced up a rather mundane product.
Package Design
RealityCharting™ - Root Cause Analysis Software
Artifex was contracted by Apollonian Publications to design and develop the identity and software application for RealityCharting™. As the projects neared completion, Apollonian once again turned to our design team to develop the package identity for the compact discs. We produced and delivered intensely rich designs for both the demo and full versions.
About every ten years, the Seattle and Tacoma Chambers of Commerce commission a report of the economic impact of Alaska on the Puget Sound region. Artifex was asked aboard to help give it a new look and possibly a new format. After consulting with the committee and many hours of design later, we produced an elegant brochure that highlighted key studies and included the full report on CD tucked into the back pocket.
The Rack – Bowling Ball Product Series
Storm Products approached Artifex with the desire to develop and reinvigorate their foundational, but aging line of bowling ball maintenance products. Our team produced a bold identity for each bottle and the impact was immediate. They were the buzz of the annual Bowl Expo in Las Vegas and were later recognized for outstanding originality in package design.
